PLEASE NOTE: The Steam Locomotive #15 repairs are underway. No date has yet been set to return the locomotive to service. Our Diesel Engine #6 will pull the train on excursions until such time as our Steam Engine is repaired.

70s Theme Dinner & Train Ride

Remember the fashion of the 70s? Bell bottoms, fringe, vests and tie-dye prints were all the rage. Join the fun and dress up in your hippie or disco costume. You might win a prize for best costume of the night. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair for a relaxing evening of fun. The festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. as you gather under our event tent for a casual cocktail hour. A full bar with signature cocktails, beer and wine are offered for purchase.

Our train ride departs at 5:00 p.m. when you step aboard a vintage train, evoking the golden age of rail travel. Choose your inside or outside seats, both of which offer panoramic views of rolling countryside and river views.

The train returns at 6:30 p.m. Under the tent, we’re serving up a hearty, home-style meal with all the good vibes. See menu HERE.
Following dinner, relax on the grassy area and enjoy live music by Rock City Band, and some fun old-fashioned games. The evening festivities conclude at 9:00 p.m.

Ride Seating

99 Business Car Parlor

The 99 Business Railcar was originally built in 1915 and was converted from a standard sleeping car to a business car for the Spokane, Portland and Seattle (SP&S) railroad in 1926. The car is a fully restored executive coach featuring a climate-controlled parlor that once served as a rolling office and lounge for railroad officials. Upholstered armchairs provide seating for six, and a rear observation platform is perfect for taking in the passing scenery. Originally used for high-level meetings and inspections along the rail line, the 99 now offers passengers a nostalgic glimpse into the golden age of train travel.

99 Business Car Dining Room

The 99 Business Railcar is a luxurious vintage coach built for both comfort & prestige. Once reserved for railroad tycoons, it is now the perfect gathering space for groups of 6-8 to experience what it was like to ride the rails in style.

The car was upgraded in 1959 with all the modern amenities of the time and features original interiors, comfortable seating, and climate control. Featuring two sleeper rooms, two private staterooms and a kitchen area. 

Chehalis Centralia Railroad & Museum obtained the car and refurbished it in 2017. With its refined atmosphere and historic charm, the SP&S 99 offers a first-class glimpse into the golden era of rail travel.

#801 Outside Seating

The 801 rail outdoor car is a modified passenger coach that allows an opportunity for up close and personal view of the landscape. Access to the indoor car is always available during the ride. Designed for a nostalgic train ride, the 801 offers a smooth, relaxing journey with the timeless feel of historic rail travel. The Chehalis Centralia Railroad obtained this car in 1988 along with the indoor passenger cars.

#601 Coach

The 601 rail car is a carefully preserved vintage coach 1926 built Pullman car originally used by Union Pacific and now providing for a nostalgic train ride. It features tables and chair for four people next to large arched windows for scenic views. This car is commonly referred to as our dining car. A catering kitchen at both ends, helps us serve dinner for up to 100 passengers. Your ride captures the ambiance of early rail travel. With its gently swaying ride and authentic detailing, the 601 offers a charming and immersive step back in time. The 601 car was acquired by the Chehalis Centralia Railroad in 1988.

#602 Coach

The 602 rail car offers a nostalgic step back in time, featuring wide windows that showcase the passing scenery. Perfect for a classic train ride experience, the 602 captures the charm and romance of early 20th-century rail travel. The 602 has a built-in bar and RV style restrooms. During pleasant summer days the 602 is connected to the open-air car #801.
