Group & Charter Options do not apply to Events, Dinner Trains and Holiday Excursions.
Box lunches or beverages may be pre-arranged for extra charge, 14 days in advance.
All groups must be reserved 14 days in advance of the desired departure day to ensure seat availability.

Group Rates
Reserve a special place for your group during any one of our regularly scheduled weekend train rides.
The train leaves the depot at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. and travels west through the Chehalis River Valley. Take in sweeping views of the river, rural farmlands, and rolling hillsides from the comfort of our meticulously restored 1920’s railcar, or reserve our SP&S Business Car for your group of 20 or less.
Groups of 20 to 50 – 20% off regular price per person, paid in single transaction. Seating is at tables and chairs in regular inside coach. Weather permitting, passengers may choose to sit in open air car.
Groups of 51-120 – $2000 flat fee paid in single transaction. Seating is at tables and chairs in regular inside coach. Weather permitting, passengers may choose to sit in open air car.
Groups up to 20 – Reserve our SP&S 99 Business Car – Seats up to 20 people in comfort. Enjoy the Dining Room (Seats 8), Parlor (seats 6) or our two Staterooms (seats 3). Reserve for a historic private ride. Climate controlled. $800 for groups up to 20.

School Groups
Your students will remember this field trip fondly forever!
When your school group visits the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum, they will learn the history of diesel and steam locomotives and get an up-close lesson aboard the 1920’s coaches* from our expert engineers, brakeman, conductors, and volunteers.
Your visit will begin with a brief tour of the CCR&M grounds and rolling stock (train cars), before embarking on a leisurely trip “back in time.” This trip to the former train stop at Milburn rolls through agricultural farmland and is 15 miles roundtrip, lasting a little over an hour. The sights and sounds of rural rail travel may be a unique experience for your students.
We strive to keep costs to a minimum to encourage schools to explore our rich Lewis County heritage. In order to maximize cost effectiveness of the ride, your school may be scheduled with other area schools. The group rate is $12.00 per person (1/3 of regular youth fare) including supervisors, less than half of our regular season prices. Field trip capacity is approximately 200 passengers using both closed cars and two open cars. Please note that outside seats are only partially covered, so encourage students to dress appropriately for the weather. We are happy to work with your group, no matter what size or age.
*Due to ongoing repair work on the historic steam locomotive, our diesel engine #6 will pull the School Days train.

Planning Your Day
Lewis County is rich with railroad history and more. The Lewis County Historical Museum and the Chehalis Veteran’s Museum, which is within walking distance from our Train Depot also welcome your students for group tours.
Students are welcome to bring box lunches and have a picnic on our CCR&M grounds or on the train. There are also four parks within three miles of our rail yard. Recreation Park/Penny Playground and Stan Hedwall Park (w/covered picnic kitchen) are both off Exit 76, and Alexander-Lintott Park is at Exit 77, just off Hwy 6. Nearby, in our historic Westside neighborhood, Westside Park is a great place where students can also picnic and play.
Discover your weekend
The mainstay of rides we offer at the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad consist of coach trains and dinner trains. All of our excursions travel an 18-mile round trip along the scenic upper Chehalis Valley, through pastoral farmland. Groups of 20+ are eligible for discounts – visit our Groups and Charters page for more details!
In addition to our regular coach excursions & dinner trains, the railroad hosts a number of special events. From themed dinner trains to holiday events like our annual Easter and Pumpkin Trains, The Polar Express™, Escape Room Train, and Wizard Express, the railroad has many exciting specials to offer. And if you have your own special event you’d like to undertake, the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad offers charters as well!
