Introducing a brand-new way to enjoy our historic railroad: Book a Railbike Tour with Joy Rails.
This open-air rail experience brings you even closer to the beauty of the Chehalis River Valley, as you pedal your way west and take in the panoramic views of our lush countryside. Catch glimpses of wildlife playing along abundant riverbanks, grazing across open fields, hiding among trees and underbrush along the rails, or soaring overhead. Wonder as you pass by historic farms and homesteads and admire the vibrant flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest.
*Railcycles seat four and are equipped with adjustable seatbelts for a safe and comfortable ride. Children who cannot reach the pedals must use a car seat. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure to set up.
Upgrade your tour with E-Pedal Assist (EPA)
Upgrade your experience with our EPA system! For those who need a little help with pedaling, or simply would rather relax and focus on the ride, our EPA will do 95% of the pedaling for you. EPA is so strong that it will easily pedal for everyone in your party. To use our EPA one person must still move the pedals, however, EPA will do all the heavy pushing for you. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the trip!
About Joy Rails
Founded in spring of 2024 by a tourism enthusiast, Joy Rails first hit the tracks in Coquille, Oregon, bringing people closer to the sweeping rural scenery of southern Oregon. Following a successful season in Coquille, they pedaled their way north and we welcomed them to our historic railroad in Chehalis, WA in October 2024.
From Joy Rails:
We rely on a fleet of specially designed, four-wheeled quadricycles that are easy to ride for all ages. The quadricycles are made of aluminum and polyurethane wheels, making them excellent at gliding along the track, although it still takes some effort, about half of bicycling. Each cycle allows up to four riders. Adjustable seatbelts and pedals make setup quick and easy.
